Ninth House | Let’s Talk

Leigh Bardugo did a fantastic job with this book! I was a little weary with the book with all of the hype that surrounded it, but I am thoroughly impressed! There was so much going on, and I loved every second of it! At first, it was not my favorite book; in fact, it was letting me down a little bit, but as soon as the plot really took off, boy was I in for a treat! Ninth House is a must-read, there is something in it for everyone. We get to go to Yale, one of the most prestigious universities in the world, and get a look at the magic and secret societies, and murder. Trigger warning: There is rape involving a minor, and drug usage in this book.

I really love this book because we get the story from two different people and watch one of them disappear. It really takes you on a wild ride, and You can get all spun around. In this book, I really didn’t know what exactly was going on how what direction the story was going to go. A book hasn’t made me feel like that in a really long time, and I am so thankful for it! I really enjoyed the mystery of who the killer was and the relationship that Alex had with the Grays. Having a strong woman with such a complex background as our POV is so refreshing! . I love how we see so much of Alex’s past and her drug use and how she got passed it. Ninth House hit so many good points about life and added so much fantasy in it as well. I am so excited for book two and to see what happened to Darlington! It kind of sucks how the first half of the book was really slow and lacking. I won’t lie, I almost gave up on it, but the second half saved it!
