I Hope You Get This Message by Farah Naz Rishi was the first science fiction book I read, well it was a little more contemporary, but still Sci-fi. I was really excited to read this book, the end of the world, aliens, and a group of teens. It was definitely something I would be into. Sadly enough, this book didn’t totally win me over, so why does it have four stars still? Because even though it was a book I didn’t love, it made me want to read it and find out what happens.

This book follows three teens whose lives intertwine as they try to find something while the earth was crumbling around them. Whether it was looking for family or a purpose, they all need that one thing to make them feel better. I liked the plot of this book, but something was missing. I felt like this book an extra something to want the aliens not to destroy all of human kind. I needed the feeling of friendship as well. The main characters were strangers, but I wanted a sense of friendship between them, I wanted to feel like these characters had bonded and formed a relationship.
I did really like how we got a glimpse into the trial in space. I liked reading about what was going on with the aliens and where their minds were at. I also loved the story line! Don’t get me wrong; I love stand alone books, but it could have been such a good trilogy! I wanted more time for the relationships to form. I would have also liked to see more of the aliens!
