Can I just say WOW! This book was pretty incredible! I never heard the stories of the 12 Dancing Princesses, so I really didn’t know what to expect when I opened this book, but I’m in love! The world of a mix or balls and glamour, and also dark and full of sadness. I haven’t read a book that me want to read all night for quite a while! I read it in about a week! This isn’t really a short time, especially since it’s 400 pages, but I work College Sports, and in the past 3 weeks, we had three football games, two hockey games, pep rallies, and countless volleyball and soccer games. So to read this book in only a week is a pretty big deal!

First of all, I love cover! It’s one of the prettiest covers I have ever seen! It made the story even more magical! The characters in this book, were great! I was absolutely in love with Fisher and Annaleigh! Very much wanted them together in the end, but thank yo Erin Craig for ruining that. This was such a magical journey full of balls and dresses and death and sadness. I really didn’t know who was behind any of it or if it was in Annaleigh’s head! I was always wondering who would be next!
Secondly, The stepmother was a great addition. I loved the story of the stepmother just trying to get the kids to like her. I know a lot of it was a little fake since she ended up being behind EVERYTHING! She was indeed a step-monster. Throughout the entire book, she was trying to be happy and get the girls everything nice, but really she was the one who wanted a son so badly she risked having all of them killed. For some reason, though, I really didn’t want her to die. She really didn’t want them to die, she just wanted a son.
This book so dark and a little suspenseful. It’s a perfect read for a person who scares easy (aka me) for a Halloween read! It has the right amount of suspenseful and creepy parts mixed with juts enough of a comedy and love to make many things happen at once and keep you interested in the story. I really couldn’t stop reading it! Such a good book! I wish it had a squeal, but I really don’t want anyone else to die! I really recommend this book! I will probably keep this book and read it endlessly.
