This book, you will either love it or hate it. It’s everything my inner fairytale land child would want in an adult form (okay minus fairies). Mermaids, magic, princesses, pirates, sea monsters, and so much more! This book was such an adventure, and while it was a little predictable, it was so much fun! Also, how beautiful is this cover?! Adalyn Grace’s debut is a must read for 2020, and hey we have the time! #Quarantine2020

Warning: There is some bloodshed in this book so if you are thinking about this book but don’t like violence this may not be the book for you. you can skip these parts but in my personal opinion, they are some of the most important parts of the book.

First I want to talk about this cover! I love the blues and purples that just blend in this cover! Every time I look at the cover, I see a new detail and I fall more in love with the cover! This has to be the best book covers of 2020! Everything ties perfectly into the story and I am OBSESSED with the hands holding the crown, like there’s even nail polish on the fingernails! I could talk about this cover all day!

This story is beautifully written, and I really picture everything that was happening! Grace did not miss any details in this book! From picturing Amora admiring the day, to the epic battle at the end. This book has it all. I feel like this is the perfect book to read when you want to feel like a kid again. Sea monsters, kings, princesses, pirates, mermaids, what more could we ask for? This book brought out my inner child and all of the imagination and stuff I made up while running around my back yard.

I’m not sure why, but it kind of reminded me of Scavenge the Stars. Maybe it was because of the pirates or maybe it was because I just finished it as well, but I’m sure that if you like that book, you will love this book!
